‘Kranti empowers girls from Mumbai’s red light areas to become agents of social change’. ‘Kranti’ (Revolution) adopted 10 teenaged daughters (Revolutionaries) of sex-workers to empower them to lead a better life. We asked how Angels Link Foundation (ALF) could help.
ALF decided to meet the other girls and discover their hopes and dreams. Five Angels visited their home in Kandivali. It was a very nice building with clean and comfortable amenities. Robin Chaurasiya (director of Kranti-India) has single-handedly taken it upon herself to empower these girls to achieve their goals. We were so inspired by her work. Robin feels that keeping these girls in touch with their roots — not cushioning them from who they are and where they come from — will give them the strength to do something extraordinary. There is an immenseemphasis on mental health here. All the girls are studying in English medium schools and colleges and are doing very well.
