NACO (National AIDS Control Organization)

The Angels Link Foundation’s 19th event was held on 30 April, 2010 at St. Jude India Child Care Centre. When children from remote areas of India are diagnosed with cancer, their parents bring them to Mumbai for treatment. The treatment is usually funded by NGOs, hospital trusts, private trusts, etc.

However, parents are often too poor to afford a place to stay while the treatment is being provided. As a result, parents and children live on the streets outside the hospital where they are receiving treatment and on railway platforms. After gruelling sessions of chemotherapy, what these children need is a soft, warm bed, nutritious food, clean drinking water and plenty of rest. The St. Jude Centres give these families more than just a roof over their heads; they give them hope.
